New Experience in Jogja | Chapter 2

Today we plan to go to the Dieng Plateau that has elevation about
2K meters above sea level. And visiting The Arjuna Temple Complex,
Sikidang Crater and The Color Lake.

Leaving Dieng Plateau at 4pm. After the dinner, we chill around our
Villa, and went to sleep early cos we need to wake up pretty early
to climbing Mt. Merapi at Selo Village.

Mount Merapi, 2911m is a volcano in Central Java, looming over the
cities of Yogyakarta and Solo (Surakarta).

Trekking Merapi is a popular activity. From Selo, the nearest village
on the north slope, it is 3-hour hike to the summit for the fit and
healthy. For others it will take 4hrs+ to climb, and nearly the same
time to get back down again.

We start at about 1am to be sure of reaching the summit by sunrise
at 5.30am. Night climbing is wise in any case, as the upper reaches
of the mountain are completely treeless and the sun can fry you to a
crisp. The sunrise views across East Java are quite stunning.

This is the final chapter on my recent Jogja travel. Enjoy ya :)
